If you have worked a supply counter during the first cold snap, you have heard this call a hundred times: "I need a cover for my backflow — it's a Watts, I think?" The nameplate tells the story. The cover either fits that story or it becomes a return on Monday.
This hub is organized the way good counter reps think: assembly type first, then brand, then specific model. That is how we build them in the shop, and that is how you should stock them.
Start with assembly type
Different assemblies have different shapes, port locations, and winterization needs:
- RP / RPZ covers — Reduced pressure zone assemblies are tall, heavy, and common on commercial and irrigation jobs. They need clearance for the relief valve and test cocks.
- DCDA covers — Double check detector assemblies show up on fire lines and commercial accounts. Profile is wider and flatter than most RPs.
- DCV covers — Standard double-check valves for many irrigation and light commercial installs.
- PVB covers — Pressure vacuum breakers dominate residential irrigation. Shorter profile, different strap placement.

When a standard size is not enough
Not every install matches a catalog photo. Assemblies get mounted sideways, tucked under eaves, or replaced with a close cousin model after a retrofit. We fabricate custom covers in 3–5 business days when you can provide measurements or photos. For distributor buyers, that custom path is part of the program — not a retail upsell.

The stock size chart below lists every cover we build with its finished dimensions and the pipe size it was cut for, no prices. Use it with the cover finder: the finder names the assembly's published envelope, the chart shows what clears it. Anything that falls between two sizes is a photo and a custom pattern in 3–5 business days.
